What is the Nexar API?

The Nexar API is a GraphQL-based API providing access to real-time supply chain intelligence, Altium 365’s design data, and our Partner services. Partners and developers can access all the data needed to help design, source, and manufacture a printed circuit board.

Who should use the Nexar API?

You may benefit from using the Nexar API if you are looking for one or more of the following:

  • Octopart component pricing and availability data
  • Altium 365 design data
  • Business insights on the electronics industry
  • A way to connect design, manufacturing, supply, and PLM services

How do I get started?

See our Quickstart documentation to make your first supply and design data queries.

I need help with a specific design/supply query.

We have many examples in our query-specific guides here. These guides are regularly updated, and if you need further help, please get in touch and create a support ticket here.

I have encountered missing model data.

Whilst much of the schema is implemented already, fulfilling the entire schema is ongoing work. Drop us a note via support@nexar.com if you encounter any gaps you would be keen for us to prioritize.

What is a part limit, and when does it reset?

Every time you make a sup query that returns supply part data, the number of part objects returned is counted and offset against your monthly limit. Your usage resets automatically on the 1st day of each month. See more here.

"Error: You have exceeded your part limit of..."

When a supply application reaches its part limit, it can no longer be used to query parts from the supply API. When you first sign up to Nexar, you are given one Evaluation app with a lifetime part limit of 1000. Any new applications created will automatically have a part limit of 0.

I need more parts. How do I upgrade my plan?

Self-serve customers can upgrade at any time via the portal dashboard settings. You can compare plans here. If you are already on the highest plan and need more monthly quota or would like to upgrade to enterprise-only features, please complete this form.

I'm only using the Design scope. Do I need a plan?

As Design Queries requires you to have an Altium Designer license and to be a member of a workspace in Altium 365 to retrieve your own data, you are not limited by the number of design queries you make. There are three subscription levels to the Altium Designer software - "Standard", "Pro" and "Enterprise". Your Nexar plan is independent of your Altium Designer software plan.

Find out more about Altium Designer here.

Where can I see my billing history?

On your portal dashboard, click "Go To Plan" followed by the "Billing" tab.   Here, you can see your payment information and billing history. More information on invoices and billing can be found here.

Where can I change my payment details?

On your portal dashboard, click "Go To Plan" followed by the "Billing" tab. Here, you can see your payment information and billing history. More information on invoices and billing can be found here.

How do I join someone's organization?

Your colleague can invite users to their existing organization from their dashboard. You will receive an email to take you to the signup or login steps. Once you have joined the organization, you will have the same access to all the organization's applications as your colleague. See Managing your Organization and its Users

Do you have a public service status page?

We do. It's available herehttps://status.nexar.com

We use an automated service which checks the service every few minutes. This includes Nexar.com, the Banana Cake Pop IDE, access token generation, and basic queries to the design/supply API. If there are issues detected, we are alerted. In addition to the public-facing checks, we also have internal checkers.

To not overwhelm our services, these checks occur every few minutes. If there is a temporary glitch, it might not be recorded as downtime.

Where can I find your terms and conditions?
